In early 2021, Professors Bryan Day and Hui Gan united with a common mission: to improve outcomes for brain cancer patients in Australia by establishing a cohesive, integrated, multidisciplinary network. They recognised the extraordinary talent and passion within the Australian brain cancer community but also noted the absence of a unifying collaborative body.

Prof Bryan Day (BSc Hons, PhD) is the Group Leader of the Sid Faithfull Brain Cancer Laboratory at QIMR Berghofer MRI and an internationally recognized expert in brain cancer. Prof Hui Gan (MBBS, FRACP, PhD) is a medical oncologist at Austin Health, specializing in primary brain tumors and Phase 1 clinical trials. He serves as the Medical Director of the Cancer Clinical Trials Unit at Austin Health. Read Prof Gan’s full profile here.

Since their collaboration began, they have dedicated themselves to expanding this national network, hosting engaging and informative events, and actively working towards securing funding for future research projects that will lead to tangible improvements for brain cancer patients.
